It means we show up when we said we would, because around here your neighbors are my neighbors and word travels. It means a walkthrough with you before the work starts and again before we leave. And it means if something isn't right, you call me and we make it right. No ticket queue, no runaround.
Baseball taught me the boring secret to good work: reps and standards. You field five hundred ground balls so the one in the ninth inning is automatic. It's the same here — the fundamentals are drilled until they're automatic, so the details most people skip get done every time: the sills and the corners of the glass where streaks hide.
A-1 is how I'm paying my way through school, so every job matters to me in a way it just can't to a national chain. When the work is your own name and your own town, cutting corners costs too much.
